Lacey Lane Plushies was founded by Lacey in 2023, when she was only 13. Shortly after she was diagnosed with ADHD, anxiety and autism. She doesn't view these as negative labels. Instead, she embraces them and actually calls herself nuero-spicy. She believes her diagnosis is the super-power that helped her turn her passion into a business.
Plushies are one of the things she uses to manage her emotions and with her business she can inspire others to use emotional support stuffed animals (ESSAs) too. She loves her followers and the way they embrace who they are.
Many of you will have already met Jasper through our TiktTok channels (@your.fave.essas and @the_essa_mum). Jasper is training as a psychiatric service dog for Lacey. He helps with her anxiety and autism and comes on a lot of outings with us. We adore him! Even though Jasper is a service dog, it can still be stressful taking him to busy places (or places where people want to touch him or stare). On those days, Lacey feels way more comfortable taking a plush dog with her.
Lacey Lane discovered the emotional support stuffed animal (ESSA) community in 2023. She instantly knew it was for her. She especially loved Douglas Dogs but was so frustrated by having to pay so much and wait so long.... So, after a bit of research, she discovered a plush dog factory just around the corner from her home. She asked to visit them and got chatting about starting a business selling their dogs. That's where it started, and it's grown from there. Now we visit the factory every week!
