So, i have three ESSAs, their names are quake (Bernese mountain dog), Rusty (German Shorthaired Pointer (bass pro)) and Charlie (Pomsky (found at an antique store) I have quite a lot of gear for all of them, my extended family will buy me stuff for them. I did at one point tell my parents about what they were, and they didn’t really like it, but they tolerate it, I like to have one of them in my bag (Uzi doorman messenger bag) whenever I go out, I find it hard to focus (undiagnosed adhd, but doctors say I have it) so they really help with that!
I would love to tell my parents I use plushies as ESSA but they just wont understand my struggles and get why I need one.

I have an ESSA but sadly I can’t tell my family because my parents think I will rely to much on it or can’t “stand on my own feet” but I only sleep with her/ use her to decompress after playing survive middle school. so I tell them my ESSA is just a comfort plushie. and I know comfort plushies are the same as ESSA but when I usethe term ESSA it somehow makes me weak, like comon they are the same thing, and just cuz I’m not diagnosed down;t mean I can’t have an essa
